Photovoltaic System Integration and Testing

Photovoltaic System Integration and Testing

Project Name: Photovoltaic System Integration and Testing

Responsible APYK: METU-GÜNAM

Project Principal Investigator: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Talat ÖZDEN

Project Information:

This project covers the testing of different institutions’ PV products that are currently commercially available (PERC, IBC, HJT, Shingled, and with dustproof and non-reflective surfaces) or in the prototype stage, as well as the products to be obtained at the end of the Research Projects of the Turkey Photovoltaic Technologies Platform, in the same environment, by a single project team, under laboratory and open-field conditions. Some of the laboratory tests will be carried out at METU-GÜNAM and some at the TSE test environment, while the open-field tests will be conducted at the METU-GÜNAM open-field test platform. During the 48-month project period, products currently commercially available or in the prototype stage by different institutions will be procured and tested for at least one year. The prototypes to be developed in the Research Projects of the Turkey Photovoltaic Technologies Platform will be tested for one year or longer, while the products to be made in the last 6 months of the project period will be subjected to testing for at least 6 months. In addition, the PV cells/mini-panels that the project partners will produce in the interim periods as a result of their work while reaching the project goals will be tested both in METU-GÜNAM and TSE laboratories, and on the METU-GÜNAM open-field test platform. The results to be obtained will contain important information for investors and decision-makers and will enable precise and accurate calculations for short and long-term performance analyses and techno-economic feasibility studies for investments.
