Project Information:

The aim of this project is to develop prototypes of new generation solar panels, which are expected to hold a significant place in photovoltaic markets in the near future. The solar cells to be used in these panels will be developed by TFTP stakeholders in other projects. The 2 separate panel technologies to be developed within the scope of the project are listed below:

  1. Bifacial solar panels for IBC type cells (together with ODTÜ-GÜNAM – Project 1)
  2. Bifacial solar panels using HJT type cells (together with Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University NÖHÜNAM – Project 3) For the new generation bifacial IBC panels to be developed in the project, a suitable contact design will be made, and the modulation steps will be optimized in accordance with this design. Within the scope of panel studies for IBC cells, alternative materials to be used for cell lamination will be investigated, and the necessary tests of these materials will be carried out. In these panels, an optically transparent layer will be used instead of a conductive plate on the rear surface. Thus, light reflected from the surroundings and reaching the rear surface will also contribute to the panel’s performance. Panel design and development will be carried out by iTechSolar. The cells to be used within the scope of the project will be produced by ODTÜ-GÜNAM, and the use of glasses to be produced by Şişecam for the paneling process is also planned. The necessary infrastructure for panel production will be established, and field tests of the produced IBC panels will be carried out. iTechSolar has focused on special products that standard panel manufacturers cannot produce. For this reason, it is a suitable and competent company for converting the new generation cells to be developed by TFTP into panels. The products to be developed in this project can later be used for mass production by large manufacturers within TFTP (PARLASOLAR) or other companies (ASELSAN) that have investment targets in this regard.
