Project Name: Development of a Low DC Voltage, Galvanically Isolated, High-Efficiency, and Bidirectional Hybrid Inverter for Photovoltaic Rooftop Applications Below 10 kW
Responsible APYK: TESCOM ELEKTRONİK SANAYİ VE TİCARET A.Ş.
Project Principal Investigator: Enis DOKURLAR
Project Information:
Within the scope of the project, a domestic hybrid inverter at TRL-7 level will be developed for photovoltaic rooftop applications below 10 kW. It is anticipated that a micro-inverter design with the features to be developed in the project will constitute a suitable solution for the rooftop market, which is expected to grow in our country. In addition, DC/DC and DC/AC topologies and control methods suitable for SiC (Silicon Carbide) and GaN (Gallium Nitride) transistors, which are expected to be commercialized in the future and have high efficiency, high power density, and high switching frequency characteristics, will also be developed by ODTÜ-GÜNAM’s doctoral and master’s scholarship holders within the project. The inverter MPPT input to be developed within the project will be compatible with cell and panel technologies such as PERC, IBC, bifacial IBC, HJ, and perovskite-cSi tandem produced by platform members ODTÜ-GÜNAM, Parla Solar, NÖHÜNAM, and ASELSAN. In this way, a completely domestic solar energy system with its panel and inverter will be obtained. The inverter developed during the project will be integrated into PV systems by ODTÜ-GÜNAM in the last 12 months of the program after the completion of the sub-project, and the necessary stages for its commercialization will be completed by testing it according to the relevant standards and certifications.
