DEVELOPMENT OF BIFACIAL HETEROJUNCTION SOLAR CELLS

“In line with increasing energy demand, decreasing costs, and technological advancements, HJT solar cells are projected to be used more widely in the global market. Thanks to the know-how suitable for mass production obtained within the scope of the project, this technology will play a strategic role, both environmentally and economically, in increasing the competitiveness of our country’s sustainable solar energy solutions, especially with its high efficiency and national production potential.

HJT (c-Si heterojunction) solar cells are an advanced photovoltaic device created by applying n-type and p-type doped a-Si:H layers onto a crystalline silicon wafer passivated with undoped a-Si:H, followed by a transparent conductive oxide (ITO) coating and the addition of metal contacts. HJT solar cells hold critical importance in innovative solar cell technologies due to the highest efficiency achieved among Si-based solar cells, the availability of both single-sided and bifacial production options, as well as their compatibility and superior performance in tandem applications.”
