DEVELOPMENT OF BIFACIAL IBC TYPE CELLS
“Today, IBC cell technology stands out as a strategic innovation that will shape the future of the PV sector. Within the scope of this study, development efforts towards the bifacial architecture of IBC cells aim to achieve efficiency values above 26%. It is aimed to implement new production techniques and cost-effective production processes designed by ODTÜ-GÜNAM.
The IBC (Interdigitated Back Contact) cell type is one of the back-contacted (BC) cell structures where both n-type and p-type doped junction regions are transferred to the rear surface. Since the optical loss on the front surface is reduced to zero in IBC type cells, this cell group has the highest efficiency potential among crystal silicon (c-Si) based cell structures.”
