SuPERTop project aims to develop new photovoltaic solar cell Technologies based on TOPCon concept which facilitates high power conversion efficiency in c-Si solar cells. The project will be executed as a collaboration work between Fraunhofer ISE and ODTÜ-GÜNAM under the umbrella of TÜBİTAK’s 1004 program. TOPCon solar cell is based on passivation of carrier selective contacts with ultra-thin oxide layer grown by thermal or wet chemical methods. The use of doped poly Si on top of thin passivating oxide layer ensures a good carrier selectivity. In addition to the studies on TOPCon structures already developed on n-type Si wafers by Fraunhofer ISE, pTOPCon devices will be focused to establish the bridge between standard PERC technology and this new high efficiency cell concept. Fabrication of high quality thin p-type poly Si layer and a good electrical contact are crucial requirements for the realization of this device. Both in-situ doping and ion implantation will be employed and compared in order to obtain best process conditions for doping.
